Damien Dempsey support slot

We take a break from our busy writing schedule to play support to the wonderful Damien Dempsey in the Strand Theatre, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary on Friday 31st May. The gig is part of the Clancy Brothers Festival where we had a great night last summer as well as playing support to Paul Brady the year before. We’re really looking forward to getting back onstage before locking ourselves away again to work on new material. Ticket info at mailto:enquiries@clancymusicfestival.org

Hello to you all! First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who helped to make our last single ‘Marianne’ such a success. We were delighted to see it climb to number 23 in the Irish iTunes chart, as well as landing at number 57 in the official Irish top 100. We were the only Independant act to break into the top 100 for quite some time.

At the moment, we are busy working on new material and are looking forward to getting out to play it for all of you. Watch this space for all info regarding touring, future releases and any other Mandola related news!

The Mandolas-Marianne (New single released Nov 9)

Well the day has finally come, we release our new single, ‘Marianne’ on iTunes this Friday November 9th. It’s been a long process but we can’t wait to get it out there. You can download it on iTunes from 12:00am this Friday for just 99c here

We have been doing a poster campaign around the country as well as plenty radio appearences and an appearence at The Song Collector Sessions in The Pavilion, Cork.

Any support is greatly appreciated and we hope to make as much impact as possible between Nov 9th-16th, which is one chart week on iTunes. We also have an event page for the single on Facebook which you can join up to here

Thanks to everyone who helped with the release of the single. It was recorded and mixed by Christian Best, mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty, and the wonderful artwork was done by Rachel Corcoran. Huge thanks also to our graphic designer and website designer Kieran Rigby for all his help in the last few months.

Well, that’s it, we hope you enjoy it!

Our new single- Marianne (Out November 9th)

Well, we have almost come to the end of our Irish Tour. We have been traveling around the country for the last three and a half months playing in some amazing venues, festivals and record shops. A big thank you to everyone who has come out to see us!!

On November 9th, we will be releasing our new single ‘Marianne’, which we recently recorded with Christian Best in Cork City. The song also features Christian playing drums and percussion on the track. It will be available to download on iTunes from Friday 9th November. We have also been lucky enough to work with the wonderful Dublin artist Rachel Corcoran for the artwork.

We want to make the new single as successful as possible, and we are hoping to get as many people as possible to download it. We think that the best way to make the most impact would be to get as many downloads as we can from the 9th-15th November (which is one week on the iTunes charts).

To promote the single, we will be doing some radio appearances around the country, all details can be found on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/themandolas as well as here on www.themandolas.com

Irish Tour update and single news

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great summer and not letting the weather get you down (if you are in Ireland that is, if not, we hope you’re enjoying the weather).

We’ve been quite busy recently. We are in the middle of our Irish Tour which is going great so far. We’ve had a couple of trips to Dublin, Galway, Castlemartyr, Mitchelstown and Waterford, taking in a few festivals along the way (two of which were in the same day).

A couple of upcoming dates have been changed slightly and all tour dates have been updated and can be seen on our Live page to your left!

We can also announce that we recently recorded a single with Christian Best that we will be releasing soon (more updates coming soon).

We were surprised to find ourselves mentioned in the Irish Independent in a letter sent in by a German fan that happened upon our gig at the Kiltha River Festival, which you can check out here

It’s exciting times in Mandola Land!

For now the tour continues, thanks to everyone who has come out to see us so far and we’ll see the rest of you soon!
